Social Policy

Social policy is about people and the issues that affect their lives. Our members deal with these issues on a day to day basis, and often these stem from decision making and policies that impact on people's lives. Social policy issues are broad and include problems relating to poverty, injustice social exclusion and personal wellbeing.

What do we do?

To help us tackle the key social policy issues that affect the people of Derbyshire, Advice Derbyshire have developed a County Social Policy Strategy and Action Plan and coordinate a dedicated Social Policy Cluster Group which aims to discuss and tackle the problems faced by our clients. Our work includes:

Campaigns

Advice Derbyshire and the Social Policy Cluster Group are active in campaigning work across the County of Derbyshire, at the local level and nationally. We are active in promoting issues such as debt, access to affordable credit and responsible lending, the impact of welfare and legal aid reforms, tackling child and fuel poverty and access to transport and connectivity.
